Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Youth Nonviolence

Hosted by the ToU Youth Council

Sustainability: Embracing a Global Initiative,” is the
subject of the 2009 MLK Youth Nonviolence Conference. 
This conference will focus on youth and community empowerment
in light of a wide range of issues related to global sustainability.
  Interactive workshops, speakers and performances will address
topics including the role of religion in sustainability work,
accessibility to health care, the global food supply and production,
the “greening” of economies, strategies for ending poverty,
“clean” energy resources, and access to drinking water.

The conference will be held on Saturday, January 24 from

 
 
 

9am to 2pm at the SGI International – USA building located at 7 East 15th Street in New York City.

CoSM Gallery for a talk on Sacred Space by artist Alex Grey
on December 11th, 2008 from 6:30 to 8:15pm. Light Refreshments
and a tour of the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors, said to be “one of the
most important artistic achievements of our time” is included in
